Paul Scheer began his career in live performances by joining New York City’s enduring Off-Broadway comedy show, Chicago City Limits, in 1995. As part of their touring company, he travelled extensively across the United States and internationally. While attending NYU in 1998, Scheer ventured into the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater scene in New York City. His involvement included various weekly shows like “Talk Show“, “The Real Real World“, and the house team “Respecto Montalban“, featuring comedians like Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Jack McBrayer, and Dannah Feinglass. They entertained sold-out crowds for over five years with their long-form improvisations and starred in a politically themed sketch comedy called “George Bush is a Motherfucker“.
