Da Silva began his basketball career at St. Patrick’s High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He played alongside future NBA players Al Harrington and Samuel Dalembert. After high school, Da Silva attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he played basketball for two seasons.
In 2001, Da Silva became the first streetball athlete to be signed to an advertising contract by Nike. He starred in the company’s Freestyle ad campaign, which helped to make him a household name. Da Silva also played for the Harlem Wizards Show basketball team and appeared in the video game L.A. Rush.
Da Silva made his acting debut in the 2007 film “The Brave One“. He has since appeared in films such as “Fast Five” (2011), “21 Jump Street” (2012) and “American Heist” (2014). He has also starred in the television series “America’s Most Wanted” and “The Cape“.
