Nurtured through Manchester United’s academy, Jonny Evans embarked on his professional journey with the club’s first team in the 2007-08 League Cup, following loan spells at Royal Antwerp and Sunderland to gain valuable first-team experience. Over the next eight years, Evans established himself as a regular first-team member. He made nearly 200 appearances and contributed to the club’s success, including three Premier League titles and numerous other accolades. However, under manager Louis van Gaal, Evans fell out of favour and departed Manchester United in 2015, joining West Bromwich Albion.
Three years later, following West Brom’s relegation, Evans moved to Leicester City, where he played a crucial role in their FA Cup triumph in 2021. When Leicester City was relegated in 2023, Evans was released and made a remarkable return to his former club, Manchester United, signing a one-year contract.
On the international stage, Evans holds a prominent position in Northern Ireland’s football history, standing as the second-most decorated player. With over 100 appearances for the Northern Ireland national team, he played a pivotal role in their historic run to the round of 16 at UEFA Euro 2016.
