Alain Blazevic’s Career

Growing up in Wiesbaden, Alain Blazevic completed high school in the city before relocating to Munich to pursue a degree in Law at Ludwig Maximilian University. Despite having prior acting experience in a theatre play, he soon realized that Law wasn’t a sufficient substitute for his growing passion for acting.

Influenced by Lee-Strasberg‘s Method of Acting, Blazevic made the bold decision to leave his Law studies, packed his bags, and headed to Los Angeles. There, he enrolled at the Lee-Strasberg Acting Academy, completing a comprehensive program. Additionally, he supplemented his education with master classes under Richard Pinter in New York, who was the director of the renowned “Neighborhood Playhouse“, known for Sanford Meisner‘s Acting technique.

During these years, Blazevic navigated various odd jobs to sustain himself and fund his studies, working as a Herbal-Sales Man at fairs, painting houses, serving as a bouncer at clubs, and taking on traditional roles such as waiter, barman, and restaurant manager. Delving into screenplay writing, Blazevic penned a script that secured him a position as a Ghostwriter within the Studio System, a role he continued for several years.

After nearly thirteen years split between New York (which he considers his second home) and Los Angeles, working on independent movies and off-Broadway theatre projects, Blazevic returned to Europe. Establishing a base in Berlin, he collaborated with a German production company and wrote the screenplay “Nachtrevue,” earning the German FFA Screenwriter’s Award/funding in 2005.

Driven by an emotional connection to his parent’s home country, Blazevic left the grey Berlin sky for the Mediterranean blue sea in Split, Croatia. While initially unsure of making a living as an actor or writer there, he embraced the uncertainty. Despite anticipating a simple life as a fisherman, Croatia had different plans. Within two years, he became a familiar face on Croatian television, landing lead roles in several drama series.

Expanding his newfound joy for acting onto the European stage, Blazevic took on roles in German movies and TV series, securing guest-starring positions. He ventured into international productions across Europe and even Moscow.
